Our boys had a great time on the beach despite the lack of sunshing and I managed to read three novels (a holiday record!). The house has everything you might need. We saw seals out in the bay as well as a humming bird and red squirrel. All in all a perfect week despite the weather.
Amazing week - all of the comforts of home in a beautiful setting
From the moment we arrived and saw the we knew our one week stay here would be memorable. Our two children lov Castaway Ocean Lodgeed the hot tub, the board games, exploring the beach and looking at birds and fishing boats in the bay with the binoculars. We loved the clean and comfortable space, the fully stocked kitchen (it even has sharp knives - something I've never seen in a rental before!), the views, the comfortable beds, the deck chairs and so much more. Highly recommend! Very comfortable for a family.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bright View Cottage. The house meets all the criteria, the common area is perfect. It is very well located. The view is beautiful. Thanks!

There is nothing better than a day at the beach!
On a warm summers night, a young girl looks for seashells as the sun sets over Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach.
At low tide you can walk out to the lighthouse.

DescriptionThe Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach is a tidal beach that grows in size as the tide ebbs. At low tide a glistening stretch of golden sand links the Sandy Point Lighthouse to the shoreline. The shallow waters, rock pools and proximity to the Sandy Point Community Centre (for snacks and washrooms) makes this a very popular beach with local families. Our sons, love it there - it is always their first choice. For them there are sand castles to build, seashells, starfish and other treasures to be found. And the fact that it is an 8-minute drive from the center of Shelburne makes it very convenient.
